Preheat oven to 165°C. Grease a 25 cm bundt pan with butter or shortening, dust with flour, and set aside.

Place all cake ingredients in the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. Mix on low speed for 30 to 45 seconds, then increase to medium speed and continue mixing for 3 minutes until smooth.

Transfer batter to prepared bundt pan. Bake for 55 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center emerges clean.

While cake bakes, combine butter, sugar, vanilla extract, and water in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until fully melted and combined. Do not allow the mixture to boil.

After removing cake from the oven, use a skewer to poke holes evenly throughout the warm cake. Gradually pour glaze over cake while it remains in the pan, allowing it to soak in.

Let cake cool completely in the pan. Run a butter knife around the inside edges to loosen before inverting onto a serving plate.
