Easy Italian Sausage Peppers Onions (Print-Friendly Format)

Italian sausage, peppers, and onions simmer in white wine with herbs for a savory, colorful skillet meal.

# Required Ingredients:

→ Sausage

01 - 6 sweet Italian sausage links (approximately 115 g per link)

→ Vegetables

02 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
03 - 1 medium yellow onion, thinly sliced
04 - 0.5 medium red onion, thinly sliced
05 - 4 garlic cloves, minced
06 - 1 large red bell pepper, sliced
07 - 1 medium green bell pepper, sliced

→ Seasoning

08 - 1 teaspoon dried basil
09 - 1 teaspoon dried oregano

→ Deglazing

10 - 60 ml dry white wine, plus extra as needed

# How to Make It:

01 - Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add sausage links and cook, turning occasionally, until browned on all sides, about 5–7 minutes. Remove from skillet and slice each link into bite-sized pieces.
02 - In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add yellow onion, red onion, and minced garlic. Cook for 2–3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add red and green bell peppers, dried basil, and dried oregano. Stir to combine and season evenly.
03 - Pour white wine into the skillet, scraping up any browned bits. Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until peppers and onions are tender, about 5–7 minutes.
04 - Return sliced sausages to the skillet with vegetables. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes to meld flavors and heat through. Add extra white wine if mixture appears dry.

# Additional Information:

01 - For a lighter option, substitute chicken sausage or use olive oil in place of butter.
